Martine ALISON, FRANCE

Description of the Artwork
I think that, just like my feathered friends the seagulls, Martine Alison's little brushes performed a well-choreographed dance!
The colors sang with the force of her emotions.
"Looking Towards Tomorrow" is a delicate dialogue with brushes and colors.
The turquoise waters of the Port d'Alon cove lie alongside a pine forest… I, Leo the toucan, am dressed as a pirate. If you look closely, you might spot me!
This beautiful adventurer could have been the star of the film "The Buccaneer of the Antilles"!
Except she's a young privateer, and there are real differences between privateers, pirates, and buccaneers!
A privateer acted on a letter of marque issued in the king's name. If captured, he was treated as a prisoner of war. He avoided the gallows!
While pirates and buccaneers, when captured, were hanged without a trace.
So, do you feel more like a corsair or a buccaneer?
Sitting on the sand, with a gloved hand, she holds the brim of her hat as if holding a secret that longs to fly away with the seagulls.
Beneath her jacket, adorned with jeweled buttons, her green dress, the color of fresh seaweed, is crumpled like a wave, its lace still bearing the memory of the sea foam.
Gentle yet fearless, one can almost taste the salt on her lips… She remains there as if to say: “One can be a corsair without flying and a princess without waiting.”
