Martine ALISON, FRANCE

Description of the Artwork
The little bus shelter that captivated Martine Alison in Mauritius has seen the light of day...
I, Léo the toucan, find it very charming!
The bus remains the ideal means of transportation for getting around the island.
Our artist finds it truly enriching to immerse herself in local interaction and soak up the country...
It was a wonderful experience for her! Instead of a tourist, she had become one among the others!
My feathered friend, the dodo, clumsy and with an awkward gait, appears very close to the beautiful lady in the hat!
Isn't he fashionable and elegant in his rapper's cap?
If only it could bring him back to life to right the wrongs of mankind!
They don't only drink rum in Mauritius!
In Martine Alison's work, Tintin decided to celebrate his arrival on the island by popping the cork on a bottle of champagne. Be careful, pretty little lady, not to sip too much in the shade of the banana trees!!
In the heat, this elixir opens the door to certain risks... that of losing one's wits and breaking into dance moves!...
Martine Alison, in love with this island, took great pleasure in painting this latest work.
Immanuel Kant said: "Art does not seek the representation of a beautiful thing, but the beautiful representation of a thing." This is a bit like the story of this little bus shelter!
