Martine ALISON, FRANCE

Description of the Artwork
Martine Alison originally titled it "To Each His Own Hat."
I can assure you, our artist didn't remove a single hair from this gentle goat to paint this canvas!
In Chinese painting, goat-hair brushes are used to paint large surfaces or create color gradients. Martine-Alison uses sable brushes.
I don't claim to be able to tell you which brush to buy, but it's an accessory that greatly influences the final result of your work.
In the past, sable brushes were made exclusively from the hairs of this animal's tail.
Today, it's extremely difficult to find these types of brushes. They are very expensive. Also, hairs from other parts of the body are used to make them.
It's a good thing I'm a toucan and not a woodcock, otherwise the feathers from my wings would be used to create certain paintings or, as in the Middle Ages, to create illuminated manuscripts!
